Undersea Eyes: Lowrance X67x and M68c Color Fishfinders

By Paul Lebowitz

Kayak anglers don’t have much use for bulky dash-mount electronics, so it’s a joy to see big-boat performance trickling its way down to compact sonars. Case in point, two of the latest offerings from Lowrance. The kayak-sized X67c and M68c S/Map fishfinders feature brilliant 256-color 320 x 240 pixel screens. The S/Map adds an integrated GPS complete with a built-in background map that shows lakes, coastal waters, navigation aids, and more. Store up to 1,000 of your favorite fishing spots in the internal memory.

Both units can see deep into the murky depths. 800 watts of peak to peak power provide sonar returns down to 600 ft. Sealed and waterproof, the X67c and M68c S/Map are backed by full one-year warranties. www.lowrance.com
